Which pen or pencil is right for you?

Start by deciding what size writing instrument you want.  Do you prefer a slim pen or pencil or does a fatter one feel better in your grip.  Comfort is a big part of writing.  You want an instrument that will not tire your hand and that fits you right.  Try writing with a couple of different sized cheaper pens and decide which is the most comfortable for you.

The Slimline pens and pencils are very small.  They work nicely for people with smaller hands or when you want a smaller more convenient pen to store in your purse or planner.

The Longwood pens and pencils are a medium size.  Being a little fatter than the Slimline, they fit larger hands a little more comfortably.  These pens have the options of coming with a rubber grip on the lower portion where you hold the pen.  However, the unique asymmetrical design of the parts allows for a larger top half which showcases the beautiful wood grain even without wood on the bottom half.  Of course, you can always choose wood for the bottom half as well.  In fact, many people like the look of a second complimentary wood for the shorter bottom half.

The Designer and Power Click pens are the largest pens.  It depends on whether you prefer the European designer look of a Mont Blanc pen or the convenience of a click pen.  Either one will give you years of satisfaction.

After you have decided which pen or pencil style you would like, you will want to choose the wood for your pen.  Whether it's the rich luxurious look or an African Cocobolo or American Walnut or the simple and profound beauty of authentic Bethlehem Olivewood, your writing instrument will be eye-catching.  See our Wood Selection page for more detailed information about your choice of wood.
